Backhand practice with Gabi

When working with the youngest players, we put major emphasis on balance, coordination, proper distance to the ball as well as the optimal body alignment enabling players to position themselves correctly to the ball and move properly to hit a given stroke.

In the videos below, our director Raphael is working with an U10 player Gabi on his backhand technique. The main focal points are a balanced body positioning, the split step, leaning forward against the ball when hitting, going forward with the body as well as the proper rotation.

It’s about learning control - playing the ball, not letting the ball play you.
