Typical Day at BTA
One of the best ways to learn about our annual programme is through getting to know the daily routine of our academy players. It is through habits that we add structure to our life and impart order and consistency to everything that we do.
Annual players at our tennis academy train five days a week. In total, the weekly schedule includes 20 hours of tennis and at least 5 hours of fitness training for our full-time students. We also have part-time training option for younger players.
All our annual players are given individual attention from our team of coaches who follows players' progress throughout the year. Students are grouped in terms of their age and ability and follow their own personalised, training schedules.
Every full-time player participates in two training sessions. A morning session consists of two hours of tennis and one hour of fitness, which is followed by a lunch break. Those players who do regular schooling are taken to school and after their classes they are brought back to the academy. Not all players take part in regular classes; some of them are involved in online studies. They stay in the academy and take advantage of the lunch break to study. Others use this time for language courses.
The afternoon session comprises two hours of match play, during which players can test themselves in real match situations and focus on the tactical and mental aspects of the game. Once per week every player has a one-on-one, mental session with our sports psychologist.
In addition to a training schedule, each and every player has a tournament schedule. They play both local tournaments, which take place practically every week, and participate in international events, such as ITF, WTA, ATP and Tennis Europe tournaments.
